History

Viinitalo Aito-Onni has been established in 1995. The first wine of the house Pohjanmaan Helmi ('Pearl of Ostrobothnia) has been named directly after the old nickname of the town Haapavesi.

The name Pohjanmaan Helmi does full justice to Haapavesi, which with its hills and lakes rises up Ostrobothnia like a pearl.

The products of Aito-Onni have got several acknowledgements during years. Pohjanmaan Helmi was chosen "The Estate Fruit Wine of the Year 1996" in the fruit wine competition organised for the first time in Finland. In addition, our Forest raspberry liqueur won the first prise in 1999 and our Cloudberry liqueur divided second place in 2000 in the competition of other alcohols.
